Nothing in this blog is intended to contradict or replace the need for professional counseling, or medications. It does not purport to tell you what to do or to agree with you or take sides.  It may, however, help you work more effectively with counselors, doctors and medication, as they help you do your part to grow in GRACE. These are the thoughts of a man who loves the Lord Jesus Christ and has found in his own life that all scripture is given by inspiration of God for 5 things:

1.To help him know what the Bible says practically about living a healthy obedient life.

2.God’s word reproves him, showing him that he is far more messed up than he could ever have realized on his own—but God loves him, and can handle “it”, all of “it”—chief of sinners and all! He finds is helpful to remember that everyone else is just as messed up and God loves them and helps them. So he reminds himself to “lighten up and do your part to letting God and others help you”.

3.God’s Word corrects what it has reproved in him, as he works with accountability and support to apply the principles.

4.God’s Word  then equips him for all the life situations that come along.

5. Having let God’s Word help him, he loves to share with others, as one beggar with another, the principles that have helped. Asking them to prayerfully consider these ideas but go to the Word and be “Bereans” and ask whether these principles are really what the Bible says.

So , here goes with “In my life I’ve found–what do you think?

UPDATED BLOG SITE

I’ve made enough progress, by the grace of God, that you might want to wander over to Lastingvictory.com and check it out. I was often on the verge of tearing out my already thinning hair but believed that God wanted me to continue. The normal blog site has all the blogs in and endless row and no one could possibly scan them to find what has been said on a topic. God’s ideas are infinite and unchanging, so I need to be adding new thoughts without all the old ones being lost.

So God showed me how to get an index and begin to divide it by topics. I have reworked about 25 blogs and will slowly plow through the rest but you may enjoy reviewing some of them. All the blogs are up on the index but the capitalized ones are not yet arraigned or reworked.

Any thoughts on how to make it more accessible would be received with rejoicing if accompanied with ideas on how to actually do the suggestion.

“HEART I WANT IT ALL”–GOD

GIVE ME YOUR HEART! (You may take this message personal, or you may assume that this is just God talking to Verle and he should listen up! True, but maybe both?)

(So your want to please me?  Keep my commandments!
Where should you start and what is the most important commandment?
I’m glad you asked.
Love me with all your HEART, SOUL, AND MIGHT or as I said in my New Testament, with all your  (HEART, MIND) SOUL, AND STRENGTH.
So why don’t you start by giving me your heart?  Unfortunately, I’ve run into a lot of people who think that their heart is mine and they show up at church clean and smiling and singing me praises and they even seem to get a bit high on the “worship” but I don’t look at this outward appearance, I look on their hearts , and their hearts are far from me.
Are you wondering if this might be your condition? Good, that means that you are probably very close. I like it when you don’t jump to the conclusion that you are doing perfectly fine. Those that are sure they are OK, seldom are. Don’t  forget that your heart will deceive you and is desperately wicked and you can’t know it. You say you’re not deceived? How would you know? That’s what deceived means, that you think it’s OK when it isn’t.  Ask me, go ahead and ask me to examine your heart, search it and show you it’s content and lead you in new heart pathways.  I’m really good at it and would be happy to oblige.
First of all, let me convince you that giving me your heart is really a big important deal to me.  If I want you to pay attention to something, I should only have to mention it once, right? But you are so often like a child and force me to raise my voice or call you several times before you listen! So, if I really want to grab your attention, I will repeat myself twice. If I really, really want your attention I might repeat myself three times! Let’s see how badly I want you to pay attention to giving me all, yes all, of your heart; take all your inner thoughts into captivity and direct them to me!)

Deuteronomy 10:12) And now, Verle, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee?

but to:

A.fear the Lord thy God,

B.to walk in all his ways,: thou shalt do them with ALL thine heart, and with all thy soul. Deuteronomy 26:16

C.to love him,  with ALL thine heart, and with ALL thy soul, and with ALL thy might.  Deuteronomy 6:5

D. to serve the Lord thy God with ALL thy heart and with ALL thy soul,

E. seek  him with ALL thy heart and with ALL thy soul. Deuteronomy 4:29,    2 Chronicles 15:12   enter into a covenant to seek the Lord God of your fathers with ALL your heart and with ALL your soul;

F.Pass the test, don’t wander from my word:  Deuteronomy 13:3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the Lord your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the Lord your God with ALL your heart and with ALL your soul.   2 Kings 23:3 to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book.

G. Make it a family affair:  Deuteronomy 30:2  return to me,obey my voice, thou and thy children, with ALL  thine heart, and with ALL thy soul; 1 Kings 2:4 If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with ALL their heart and with ALL their soul,(they shall be blessed)

CURING MY HEART

A scriptural meditation on the “heart cure”

HEART: The inner “chatter”, what I am really thinking deep within while my outside actions and words seem fine.

My heart is deceitful above all things! If I want it cured and truth full I will need  the Holy Spirits help to:

Take heed, keep my soul diligently so that I don’t let what God has done go out of my HEART. Then I can teach God’s truth to my children and grandchildren because they can see beyond my words to my heart. Deuteronomy 4:9/           Be humble, (having a sense of worth strength and security from God while admitting my own weak messed up self) See God’s love in the uncomfortable consequences he brings to help me deal with my iniquity= (Deciding for myself what is right, doing it in my strength, and moaning about how hard it was and taking credit.)Leviticus 26:41/         Put my time effort thoughts money creativity and risk into seeking relationship with God, seeking his kingdom’s welfare, seeking his righteousness.  Matthew 6:21/              Stop living for pleasure and discipline my heart to enjoy life Gods’ way and I must be open to feedback and willing to change.  Deuteronomy 10:16/         Take heed to my inner thoughts which can easily believe the lie that there are other priorities in life besides God. Deuteronomy 11:16/             Lay up Gods’ words in my heart and in my soul by keeping them in front of me at all times. Deuteronomy 11:18/                Talk with others about the wonder of Gods’ truth and think on them and obey them.  Deuteronomy 30:14/             “Set my heart” unto ALL Gods’ words if I expect my children to not pick and choose their obedience. Deuteronomy 32:46, 1 Chronicles 22:19/           Take diligent heed to serve God with ALL my heart and soul. Joshua 22:5/           I must actively put away the spending of my heart-thoughts on non-God issues and instead incline my focus to Him. Joshua 24:23/           Like Hannah, pray and say, “My heart rejoiceth in the Lord because I rejoice in thy salvation Chronicles 16:10 and 1 Samuel 2:1.2 /            Don’t allow my heart to faint, fear, tremble, or be terrified  Deuteronomy 20:3 /            Return my heart to God by putting away other priorities, prepare my heart unto God and serve him with truth and ALL my heart, considering all he has done for me.1 Samuel 7:3 and 1 Samuel 12:20/          Be single hearted for God 1 Chronicles 12:33/           Let my heart smite me when I have sinned and beseech the Lord to forgive  2 Samuel 24:10/             Find in my heart to talk to God  1 Chronicles 17:25/         Ask God to keep his truth forever in the “imaginations” of my heart and to prepare my heart unto God   1 Chronicles 29:18/       Have in my heart to ask for wisdom and knowledge to help God’s people 2 Chronicles 1:11/   Let my heart be glad and merry  over remembering the good things God has done 2 Chronicles 7:10/            Lift my heart from the gutter into the ways of the Lord and learn to hate evil 2 Chronicles 17:6/        Learn to act out of a “perfect” heart” thinking and imagining on God’s ways continually with all my heart not just part.2 Chronicles 19:9 and 2 Chronicles 31:21/            Let God give me a tender humble repentant “soft” heart 2 Chronicles 34:27 and Job 23:16
