Two adults going overboard in anger, tend to realize that they are being ungodly and pig-headed, so back off and may even seek compromise or solutions. But, where’s the fun in that? Surely there must be something I can be pig-headed about and not feel guilty!
Try TAKING-UP-A-FAULT. This is where you look for a third-party such as a child, a family member, a friend etc.; you then find something that the person you want to be mad at is doing to the poor innocent victim (or not doing for them that you believe they should). Now you can be as angry as you want and never feel guilty or be motivated to listen, compromise or find solutions. After all, you’re not doing it for yourself but seeking the best for this THIRD party. Maybe even call down fire from heaven. Luke 9.54
LIFE RULE: YOU WILL CAUSE MORE TROUBLE FOR THE PERSON YOU ARE TRYING TO HELP THAN THE TROUBLE THEY WOULD HAVE EXPERIENCED IF YOU HAD LEFT IT ALONE, or dealt with it in a godly fashion.
The wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God. James 1.20
GOD’S RULES: pray for those who treat you badly, rejoice when you suffer, do good to them who use you badly, bless those who curse you, when struck-turn the other cheek, forced to walk one mile-walk two, sued for your coat-give them your shirt etc. etc. You may quit when you finish paying back your debt to Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 6.20
Still want to be mad? The beginning of all wisdom and knowledge is to fear God and the fear of God is to hate evil. Proverbs 1.7 and 8.13
LORD HELP ME TO SEE THE INFINITE WORTH OF ALL THE PEOPLE THAT I MEET, BOTH THE PERPETRATORS AND THE VICTIMS. MAKE ME AN INSTRUMENT OF YOUR PEACE IN THEIR LIVES.
